The heart of Pintadera’s Italian program is the Lingua group language course with a maximum enrolment of 8 students per class. The lessons are normally divided into two parts with a different teacher guiding each segment. The first part emphasizes Italian grammar and structure. The second part focuses on the application and exercise of these linguistic rules in real life settings.
Pintadera offers three basic levels of Italian proficiency - Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. Absolute beginner classes generally begin the first Monday of every month. Intermediate and Advanced learners may start on any Monday, and depending on student circumstances, may enjoy the liberty of beginning on other days.
Pintadera does not employ standard Italian textbooks but instead produces its own class and take-home materials which are modified to the particular interests, abilities and needs of the group. This method has proven most effective in teaching adults who come to us from different backgrounds and who respond most favorably when treated in a way that is personally significant.
Our LINGUA group classes are for everyone between 16 and 100!
Occasionally our group LINGUA courses for adults take place in the afternoon. This may happen during w/c 24th June, w/c 8th and 15th July as well as w/c 21st October 2024.

In September 2018 I went to Pintadera for a second language course after I did a 2 week course in October 2017. This time I stayed for 6 weeks. It felt like going back to my Italian family. Everyone was very welcoming, every teacher remembered me from my last stay. It felt like I had never left. Every evening, there is something to do if you want to and even if it is only to go for an aperitif in the evening with the other students. There are always afternoon activities to choose from. For these, you have to pay extra but prices a very reasonable. I made some very dear friends and I'm still in contact with them and sometimes we meet up in Alghero again if we all find the time. Many of the students returning to the school, so the atmosphere is very family like.
The teachers are great and make things easy to understand. Classes are small and you always have to talk but you never feel pressured. The school is situated in the middle of the old town of Alghero where you find lots of little bars and restaurants. The beach is only a few minutes away by food. There are also a lot of hiking trails nearby - there is something for everyone.
