At the Faculty of Science and Technology you’ll spend two weeks exploring the foundations of STEM. Physics, chemistry, biology and engineering come together here, showing how each discipline connects and how they can be applied to real challenges.
The course is built around practice as much as theory. You’ll work with data, run experiments and design solutions, sharpening both analytical and creative thinking.
Laboratory sessions, engineering projects and technology workshops give you the chance to apply concepts directly. These hands-on tasks show how scientific knowledge translates into real outcomes.
Collaboration runs through the programme. You’ll work alongside peers in group projects that mirror the way modern science works, drawing on expertise from different areas to tackle shared problems.

Cambridge College Summer School is hosted at three distinguished Dukes Education Schools—Cardiff Sixth Form College, St Andrew’s Cambridge, and Sancton Wood—offering a premier pre-university experience for students aged 14–17.

At Dukes Cambridge Summer School, students will be allocated to one of our six accommodation blocks, which are all purpose-built with modern facilities. They are located a short walk from the school, with bedrooms being either single or twin rooms. The majority of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms, with a small number of shared facilities in the smaller accommodation blocks. During free-time, students have the option of socialising in the on-site common rooms or spending time in Cambridge city centre.
