Learn Hungarian through Activities - Lifestyle Homestay Programme (15hrs activities)

During my stay with Influent in Budapest, I had a truly enriching and memorable experience. Not only was I able to improve my Hungarian language skills through daily conversations in a natural and supportive environment, but I also had the opportunity to discover the city from a local perspective thanks to my wonderful and caring host.

She was incredibly patient and attentive, always taking the time to explain things and help me feel confident speaking Hungarian. Beyond the lessons themselves, she kindly showed me around Budapest and introduced me to many aspects of everyday life and culture that I wouldn’t have experienced as a regular visitor.

One of the highlights of my stay was being invited to family gatherings, where everyone was very welcoming and open. It gave me a fantastic opportunity to meet different people, practise the language in real-life situations, and feel truly immersed in Hungarian culture.

I am very grateful for this experience and would warmly recommend Influent to anyone looking for an authentic and effective way to learn a language while living a genuine cultural immersion.

Lilly stayed with a family in Budapest. We appreciated that InFluent found us a family on short notice. There was some confusion initially as the materials about the family stated that the father was the tutor, when in fact the mother was the tutor. She was lovely and made a real effort to keep up with the 3 hour language lessons. They have a 17 year old daughter who did not come out of her room or speak, so that was odd. There was also some confusion about what we paid for, it was my understanding that roughly $400 was to cover transportation and activity costs - the father asked us to pay for transportation fares and they ended up going to one museum, so that was also a bit odd and disappointing. They did take Lilly to a friends house in an effort to provide a cultural experience for her. The home stay is great but I think it is better to have the classes at the school.
